OBFUS | Privacy Policy

Strict source code privacy, local processing, and anonymized analytics

1. General Provisions

1.1. This website obfus.site (hereinafter — the "Site") is committed to protecting your privacy. The Site is designed to comply with:

  • The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR[reference:7];
  • The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended in 2026[reference:8];
  • Other applicable data protection laws in jurisdictions where our users reside.

1.2. All compilation, minification, and obfuscation processes for JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are performed exclusively on the client side (in your browser) using isolated contexts. Your source code is never transmitted to our servers, is not logged, and is not stored.

1.3. The Site does not collect personal data from users (names, phone numbers, email addresses), as it completely eliminates:

  • Feedback forms and subscriptions;
  • Registration, authorization systems, or personal accounts;
  • Shopping carts and built-in payment gateways.

2. Data We Collect

2.1. We collect only strictly anonymized technical data through Yandex.Metrica analytics:

  • Referral sources (how you found the Site);
  • Technical parameters (browser type, screen resolution, critical JS runtime errors during AST parsing);
  • Anonymous usage statistics to improve the service.

2.2. We do NOT collect:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information;
  • Your source code or any data you paste into the obfuscator tools;
  • IP addresses (anonymization is enabled in Yandex.Metrica settings).

3. Use of Cookies

3.1. The Site uses:

  • Essential (session) cookies — necessary solely for the proper functioning of the interface and storing local settings (selected language, obfuscation slider configuration, banner dismissal flag). These do not require consent under GDPR as they are strictly necessary[reference:9].
  • Yandex.Metrica analytics cookies — for anonymized traffic analysis. Consent is obtained via our cookie banner before these cookies are set.

3.2. You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time:

  • Reset cookie settings on this site
  • Block all cookies in your browser settings
  • Use the official Yandex opt-out tool
  • For California residents: exercise your "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" right by contacting us (note: we do not sell or share personal data)[reference:10]

4. Yandex.Metrica Analytics

4.1. The analytics counter collects strictly anonymized technical data without the possibility of personal identification:

  • Referral sources to the Site;
  • Technical parameters (browser type, screen resolution, critical JS runtime errors during AST parsing).

4.2. Anonymization is forcibly enabled in the counter settings. Data is stored on YANDEX LLC servers within the Russian Federation and is processed in accordance with Yandex's privacy policy.

4.3. For users in the EU/UK: Yandex.Metrica data processing is based on your explicit consent, which you provide through our cookie banner. You may withdraw this consent at any time using the methods described in Section 3.2.

5. Your Rights

5.1. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Right to be informed — about how we process your data (this policy fulfills that obligation)[reference:11];
  • Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you (note: we hold no personal data);
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data;
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data;
  • Right to restrict processing — limit how we use your data;
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format;
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Right to withdraw consent — where consent is the lawful basis[reference:12];
  • For California residents: right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information[reference:13], right to limit the use of sensitive personal information[reference:14], and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights[reference:15].

5.2. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@obfus.site. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR[reference:16].

6. Data Retention

6.1. Since we do not collect personal data, we do not retain any personal information. Anonymized analytics data is retained by Yandex.Metrica in accordance with their data retention policies.

6.2. Essential cookies are stored locally in your browser and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

7. Data Transfers

7.1. Your source code and any data you input into the obfuscator tools are processed locally in your browser and are never transferred to any server.

7.2. Anonymized analytics data may be transferred to Yandex servers located in the Russian Federation. For users in the EU/UK, this transfer is based on your explicit consent, which you provide through our cookie banner[reference:17].

8. Security

8.1. To ensure the security of transmitted static content, we employ:

  • Secure encrypted HTTPS (SSL) connections;
  • Regular server software updates;
  • Hosting on servers located within the Russian Federation.

9. Changes to This Policy

9.1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date below. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically[reference:18].
